Antwerp, MX7 GALLERY organises her second exhibition in which the oeuvre of Raf Veulemans is presented.
Veulemans has always been fascinated in the link between mankind and animals. He works with carcasses from animals and for this series he even used human skulls. Do note, these “materials” have a legal background and originate from beings that had a natural death. No harm has been done to any living creature involved. Alas, because of a very strict policy, displaying Veulemans’ creations is prohibited in Germany, which gave us an extra stimulus to present them here in Antwerp.
Ethics and society are two topics that Veulemans highly takes into account. Satire on the current human society and the pureness of the kingdom of animals.
Veulemans is fascinated by the contemporary aspect of everything, and how this could be contained. How things perish, how evolution devolves, how everything is relative.
Feel free to drop by from Wed. to Sat. 2-4pm, or by appointment at +32 499 93 46 22.
