NO MAPS FOR THESE TERRITORIES // MX7 ART & DRINKS

 
The gallery scene goes to sleep during summer. That’s why MX7 thinks it’s time to experiment. This summer, MX7 goes for an unique concept around Mark Neale's documentary on William Gibsons’ “NO MAPS FOR THESE TERRITORIES”, and there, the idea has a name. And all that settles just perfectly in our science-art vision.

Artists such as Andy WAUMAN, Bart VAN DIJCK, Lara DHONDT, Korneel DEVILLE, Lieven SEGERS, Tom TOSSEYN, Xenia FAIZOULOVA, and others will work on the walls of the space.

They will create their own piece of the map, and criticize the neutral character of mapping.

OPENING: Thursday July, 7 from 16 to 22hrs. Marnixplaats 7 - 2000 Antwerp.
Opening hours: Thu to Sun, 16 to 22hrs.

Questions like these will be asked, and artists will brainstorm while working on the NO MAPS FOR THESE TERRITORIES (or NMFTT) wall during these 6 weeks.
Each of them will present its own mapping of their world, and frequently will interact with eachother where the worlds meet on the huge growing map on the walls. MX7 asked the artists with whom they wanted to cooperate, so the list of names is still growing while “NMFTT” grows. This list of artists can be followed on the website: www.mx7gallery.com

MX7 makes art freely accessible to every- and anyone, literally & figuratively:
the windows & walls of the front of the gallery will come out, so everyone can easily enter the art space. Next to that everything is packaged in a cosy atmosphere where drinks will be served and quality music will be played. Have a chitchat on art or talk about cabbages and kings, while the visitors enjoy a glass of cava, a herbal limonade or a beer.
At the end of the summer, on August 25 everything will be auctioned for we think everyone should be able to buy quality art. >> The map will be divided in pieces and have a nice after-life on its own. Maybe in your living room?
